Meet the Team

Co-President

Becca Douglas

Rebecca Douglas is a life long resident of Union County. She currently lives in Scotch Plains with her family. After successfully touring domestically and internationally with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for five years, Rebecca began her tenure on the trading floor at Deutsche Bank. Rebecca is so proud to be beginning the next chapter of her journey by creating Mothers Fore Equalitee with her fellow mom and ally, Laurie.

Laurie Blair

First and foremost, I’m a dedicated mom of two boys. After many years of working in client relations and not feeling fulfilled, I decided to go back to school for my Master's degree in Child Advocacy. I’m a proud advocate, dedicated friend, and overall preacher of LGBTQ rights. I look forward to what we can achieve for all LGBTQ kids.

Our Mission

Mothers Fore Equalitee (MFE) is an organization that exists to support the LGBTQ+ youth population of Scotch Plains/Fanwood and the LGBTQ+ youth community of New Jersey at large. MFE’s goal is to raise funds to support those community members by hosting events that educate and motivate community members to support LGBTQ+ and other marginalized groups in our community

Our Vision

Laurie and Rebecca’s main goal in creating Mothers Fore Equalitee is to educate the SPF community about the importance of accepting their LGTBQ+ youth residents. They are passionate and determined to make this great community a safe and welcoming environment. Laurie and Rebecca won’t stop working hard to protect the community’s youngest residents who deserve to feel represented and respected amongst their peers and their community as a greater whole.
